CROATIA – ENERGY 9
Biomass cogeneration
ENERGY 9 is a biomass (forestry woodchips and by-products of primary wood processing) fueled plant of 5 MW eletrical and 13 MW thermal capacity.
The plant is located in the Slavonia region of Croatia and has an energy efficiency of over 60%. It provides thermal energy for several industrial actors operating in the wood and agricultural sector.
The project makes a significant contribution to the local economy and the wood sector in Croatia, notably through its collaboration with Hrvatske Šume, the public organisation in charge of managing the Croatian forests, as well as with several private suppliers who meet strict ESG criteria for their supply.

This plant has a positive social impact through the industrial and energy development of a landlocked area of Croatia, creating jobs in the region and contributing to its local energy needs.
The environmental impact of the project lies in:
1- the energy recovery from wood industry co-products ion the form of wood chips,
2- the production of electrical and thermal energy based on renewable fuel which avoids CO2 emissions,
3- the local economic contribution.
